The average American today - whether he is conscious of this fact or not - is bound by a veritable Gordian web of invisible contracts (known formally as "adhesion contracts") intended to deprive him of his rights and effect a (subtle) transfer of wealth, property, capital and labor to those above him in the economic food-chain.
In practical terms, it is not an exaggeration to say that no (commercial) document or instrument in America to which you sign your name is what it appears to be. The financial and commercial worlds are almost entirely ones of (often misleading) "Matrix-like" illusions and Ponzi-schemes. Illusions which are proving to be all the more dangerous as the "house of cards" begins to show signs of impeding (and inevitable) collapse.
The areas of Law we probably spend the most time looking at include:

- Taxation (a special case of contracting; often both invisible and "adhesive")
